PROJECT TITLE: Strengthening the Institutional Capacities of the Romanian Court of Audit

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To strengthen the Court of Audit of Romania as an independent, professional and trusted external audit institution, able to contribute competently to the discharge of management or settlement of liability as far as the use of funds by the public administration is concerned, and to present to the Romanian Parliament and the European Union reliable and high quality reports on the manner in which public money is used.
ACTIVITIES:
The activities of the project included:
- Review of and amendments of the legal and regulatory framework of the Court of Audit;
- Development of the quality control system;
- Audit pilot projects;
- Definitions of tasks and responsibilities for all levels of the Court;
- Development of the personnel training.
