PROJECT TITLE: Strengthening the Food Quality System for Protected Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: The Strengthening of the Food Quality System by clarifying all the procedures for obtaining registration as protected quality products as PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) and TSG (Traditional Specialty Guaranteed).
ACTIVITIES:
The project indented to train civil servants and strengthen their knowledge about EC Regulations, as well as the mechanisms and procedures necessary for successful protection of quality products as PDO, PGI and TSG in order to achieve better results that protected agricultural products offer to the agro food sector.
Project activities included:
- Organization of expert missions to Slovenia in cooperation with the State Veterinary and Food Administration;
- Training of Slovenian civil servants;
- Organization of a study visit in collaboration with the Hellenic Ministry of Rural Development and Food;
- Dissemination of the findings of the Project.
