On 29 - 31 January 2007 the director of the EPLO, Professor S. Flogaitis, visited Baku within the framework of the Project “COLCHIS: Training of Jurists on the Rule of Law and Support of the Necessary Legal Reforms in Azerbaijan”.
During this second visit of Professor Flogaitis to Baku, several fruitful meetings with State authorities were organized. More specifically, the Director of the EPLO participated in meetings with Mr. Toghrul Musayev, the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and member of the EPLO Board of Directors, in order to discuss, among others, the progress on the implementation of the COLCHIS Project, the various parameters of the establishment of an EPLO Office in Baku and the steps to be followed towards the realization of this idea. Professor Flogaitis also had meeting with Mr. Wolfgang Sporrer, Europe House Coordinator in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the second day of the visit, scheduled meetings took place at the Milli Madjilis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Baku State University, where the Rector and University officials presented the mission, role and faculties of the institution. Further discussions took place and the meeting concluded with a tour at the premises of the Baku State University, with both parties agreeing that this meeting will be the starting point of future cooperation.
