The EPLO organized a study visit of Armenian delegates in Athens, Greece, from 22 to 27 April 2012, within the framework of the Twinning project "Strengthening the enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Armenia", currently implemented in partnership with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO), under the Danish Ministry of Business Growth. The delegation consisted of officials from the Armenian Intellectual Property Agency, the Ministry of Justice, the Police, the Prosecutor's General Office, the Customs and the collection society organization "Armauthor", along with Mrs. Janne Wellendorf, the Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA) of the project, and Mrs. Armine Grigoryan, the RTA assistant.
The visit was organized to showcase best practices concerning the enforcement of intellectual property rights law in Greece. The delegates visited the Financial and Economic Crime Unit (S.D.O.E), Ministry of Finance, and met with the President of SDOE, Mr. Diotis and the Head of the Unit of Special Crime Affairs, Mr. Tsolkas, the Hellenic Police and met with Police Officer A', Mr. Panayotopoulos, and officers Mrs. Kollia and Mrs. Politopoulou of the Financial Police and Cyber Crime Unit. Moreover, the delegates visited the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization (OBI) and met with the Director of Filing and Grant Procedure, Mr. Abatzis, and the Head of International Affairs, Mrs. Labrou, as well as the Athens Court of Appeals and met with the President of the Court, Mr. Hamilothoris, and the President of Jurists in the Court, Mr. Machairas.
