The EPLO, under the directorship of Professor Matthew Finkin, from the University of Illinois College of Law, organized an International Conference entitled "Labor Law in the Eastern Mediterranean" that took place at the EPLO premises in Kolonaki, Athens, on 11-12 January 2008.
The main topics of this conference included the comparative labor and employment law and policies in three Eastern Mediterranean Countries, namely, Greece, Turkey and Israel, with a particular emphasis on wrongful dismissal, employment discrimination, and managerial prerogative.
The main speakers of this conference included high-level labor lawyers and labor law experts and academics coming from Greece, Turkey and Israel, and the conference was attended by several Greek experts in this field, as well as attorneys-at-law. Due to the topic, the conference served as a unique and new experience for the European Public Law Organization.
