A Greek delegation comprised of Professor S. Flogaitis, Director of the EPLO and Ms. Maria Papoutsaki, Associate Researcher/ Project Manager of the EPLO, visited Baku on 1 - 3 March 2006 and attended the first coordination meeting within the framework of the Project: “COLCHIS - Training of Jurists on the Rule of Law and Support of the Necessary Legal Reforms in Azerbaijan”.
During this visit several meetings with the local authorities and the state officials were organized. Specifically, the Greek delegation was received by His Excellency, the Minister of Justice Mr. Fikrat Mammadov, H.E. the Deputy Minister of Justice Mr. T. Musayev, H.E. the President of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Mr. Farkhad Abdullayev, and finally by the Greek Ambassador in Azerbaijan, Mr. Themistoklis Dimidis, who was accompanied by Ms. Georgina Soultanopoulos, First Secretary of the Greek Embassy.
The meetings led to very fruitful conclusions regarding the actual implementation of the project principals. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that at the request of H.E., the Deputy Minister of Justice, Professor Flogaitis presented the initiatives of the EPLO and the COLCHIS project to the candidate judges of the School of Judges of Azerbaijan
