The EPLO Director, Professor Spyridon Flogaitis, visited the University of Central Europe in Skalica, Slovakia, member of the EPLO Board of Directors, on 19 September 2011 to deliver an address at the opening ceremony for the academic year 2011-12 in the presence of the University Rector, Professor Ing. Vojtech Kollár, the University’s Director and Founder, Ing. Heidy Schwarczová, the Mayor of Skalica, Dr. h. c. Stanislav Chovanec, the Ambassador of Greece to Slovakia, Mr. Nikos Kanellos, the Ambassador of Cyprus to Slovakia Mr. Marios S. Kountourides, and representatives of local authorities.
The EPLO Director announced during his address the establishment of the Academy of Environmental Law and Policy in Skalica in the framework of the fruitful cooperation among the University of Central Europe, the royal town of Skalica and the EPLO to be launched in early 2012 and hosted within the City Hall of Skalica. Following the University’s ceremony, the EPLO Director along with the participating officials, visited the City Hall of Skalica where the EPLO emblem has been placed signifying the imminent launch of the Academy of Environmental Law and Policy.
