Conference on the Euro Crisis in Cyprus

The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) and the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus co-organized an international conference on the topic: 

“The Crisis of the euro and of the Banking Sector at the European Periphery: Adequacy of the Union's Tools, Necessity and Challenges of Further Integration”

That took place on 4 and 5 April 2014  at the Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The conference featured four panels on the topics Lessons from the Eurozone crisisThe Making of a Banking UnionChallenges of Crisis Resolution and The Implications of the Eurozone crisis for European Integration.

Mr. Costas Clerides, Attorney General of the Republic and Mr. Harris Ch.Georgiades, Minister of Finance of Cyprus gave welcome addresses, while Prof. Giuliano Amato, Italian Constitutional Court, Former Prime Minister of Italy, gave the introductory speech of the conference.

Distinguished European academics and high level officials explored various cutting-edge topics during the four discussion panels.
