The EPLO and the School of Human Rights Research of the Utrecht University co-organized an international conference on the subject “How to deal with the criticism of the European Court of Human Rights” on 12 and 13 april 2012 at the historic chamber of the Dutch Senate in Hague, the Netherlands, with the financial support of the Dutch Ministries of Security and Justice and Foreign Affairs.
The Dutch Minister for Security and Justice, H.E. Ivo Opstelten, delivered opening remarks and Professor of Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance of the Utrecht University, Mr. Tom Zwart, welcomed the distinguished participants, among which was the President of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands, Mr. Geert Corstens. The EPLO Director, Prof. Spyridon Flogaitis, chaired the opening session of the conference.
