2nd Seminar in the Framework of the MYRTALI Project

The EPLO organized the second seminar on “Human trafficking and its current dimensions”, within the framework of the Project “MYRTALI - Legal Support to the Victims of Human Trafficking from Central and Eastern Europe”.

The speakers in this event included representatives from national and international institutions, universities, NGOs, and Bar Associations.

The audience consisted mainly of police officers and representatives of the legal world of Komotini and the surrounding area, as well as students from the Police Constables School of Komotini, lawyers and academics from the Democritean University of Thrace.

The following issues were discussed during the seminar: 
• The contribution of the system of penal justice in the prevention and suppression of human trafficking
• The international dimension of trafficking
• Human trafficking and organized crime
• The role of civil society in combating human trafficking
• Trafficking of human organs

Ms. A. Taoukidou, and Mr. E. Kalamaras, EPLO Associate Researchers/ Project Managers represented the EPLO in the aforementioned seminar.
