The EPLO organized the second and third, in the series of three seminars in total, within the framework of the Project "AMMON - Training of Jurists on the Rule of Law and Democracy and Support of the Necessary Legal Reforms”. The title of the second seminar was “Trade Unions” and took place at the Teachers’ Hall of the Association of Trade Unions of Sudan, whereas the title of the third seminar was “Civil Service Reform” and took place at the Sudan Academy for Administrative Sciences (SAAS).
The speakers in this event includedf Dr. Ioannis Tzortzis, Attorney at law and legal advisor of the Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy, Dr. Ioannis Stribis, Attorney at law and legal advisor of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, and Mr. Ioannis Kastanos, Attorney at law.
The audience consisted mainly of civil servants, representatives of the Parliament and members of trade unions associations.
The following issues were discussed during the seminar:
- Better Regulation in public administration
- The International Labor Organization
- The right to promotion
- The right to strike
- The civil servants evaluation system in Greece and in the European Union
Mr. E. Kalamaras, Associate Researcher/Project Manager, and Mr. T. Elsir Abbadi Local Coordinator of the EPLO in Sudan represented the EPLO in the aforementioned seminar.
