1st Round of Seminars in the Framework of the XENOPHON Project

The EPLO, in collaboration with the Center of Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia, organized a seminar on “Constitutional and legal guarantees of the human dignity and human rights protection”, within the framework of the Project “XENOPHON - Training of Jurists on the Rule of Law and Support of the Necessary Legal Reforms”.

The speakers in this event included representatives from the Law Faculty of the University of Athens, the Constitutional Court of Armenia, the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia and the European Court of Human Rights.

The audience consisted mainly of representatives of Human Rights NGOs, officials from Government of Armenia and various ministries, Deputies of the National Assembly, Prosecutors, staff members from the Office of President of Armenia, members of the Court of Cassation, members of the Court of Appeal, legal scholars from different Law Schools, representative of Ombudsman office and staff members of the Constitutional Court participated at the seminar. The event was covered by the media reports of TV stations, news agencies and newspapers.

The following issues were discussed during the seminar:

• The national Constitution, the European Convention of Human Rights, the protection of Human Rights in the European Union 
• Fundamental issues of the fight against Trafficking in the context of Human Rights protection
