On May 9, 2026, the EPLO Regional Branch participated in the Europe Day event organized by the Embassy of the EU to Georgia. The event featured a variety of activities in which the Branch took an active part. At the exhibition of local diplomatic missions and international organizations the Branch stand offered visitors brochures, flyers, and leaflets about the Organization and its institutions, including its University – European Law and Governance School.
Visitors also expressed considerable interest in the Branch’s publications: “Seven Steps for Comprehending the EU”, “EU Party Politics”, and “The EU’s Relations with its Eastern Neighborhood as Seen through EU Presidency Programs 2001–2021”. Guests were invited to take a simple quiz on EU-related topics and receive a copy of one of the publications as a prize.
In addition, the Branch Director, Amb. Nanobashvili, participated in a podcast discussion on the topic: “Michel Mouskhely’s Scientific Legacy and His Role in Shaping the European Integration Process”. The discussion was organized by the Embassy of France in Georgia and moderated by the Ambassador of France H.E. Olivier Courteaud. During the discussion, Amb. Nanobashvili addressed Mouskhely’s publications released between 1948 and 1952 and highlighted his explicit and well-structured vision of a future Europe. He presented the key elements of Mouskhely’s concept of “non-dogmatic federalism”, as well as the legal and institutional aspects of Mouskhely’s model for workable Unified Europe. The prominent Georgian writer Dato Turashvili also shared his reflections on the life and work of Michel Mouskhely (Mikheil Muskhelishvili) with the audience.
At the conclusion of the discussion, Amb. Courteaud encouraged the two other participants to jointly publish a paper on the life and the scientific legacy of Michel Mouskhely in order to further popularize the Georgian-born French thinker both in Georgia and internationally.
