Position Title: Administrative and Financial Officer
Duty Station: Cascais, Portugal
Type of Appointment: Fixed-term renewable contract
The European Public Law Organization (EPLO is recruiting an Administrative and Financial Officer for its Regional Branch in Cascais, Portugal.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of the EPLO Regional Branch in Cascais , the Administrative and Financial Officer will be responsible for:
• Assisting the Director in the administrative and financial management of the Branch.
• Performing all daily administrative and financial tasks.
• Organizing and managing the Branch’s activities such as events , conferences, and meetings.
• Organizing and maintain all Branch documents and archives, managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and arranging travel and accommodation.
• Assisting the EPLO Director General for Education in the implementation of the EPLO educational activities.
• Supporting the European Law and Governance School (ELGS) of EPLO in all educational activities including degree programs , summer schools, trainings, workshops, conferences and study visits.
• Assisting the Director of the Global Rule of Law Institute in the administration and research work of the Institute.
• Assisting the Global Rule of Law Commission in its mission and activities.
• Driving the official EPLO car when needed and monitoring its maintenance.
Required qualifications
• A university degree from an accredited academic institution in any field, preferably in Law, Political Science, Social Sciences, Economics, Management, Public Administration, International Relations or any other related field.
• A Master’s degree in any of the above fields will be considered an asset.
• Fluency (oral and written) in English.
• Knowledge of the Portuguese language will be considered an asset.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills in English.
• Computer proficiency in standard software applications (MS Office, etc.)
• Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and a strong sense of thoroughness, accuracy, and consistency.
• Experience in an international and multi-cultural environment will be appreciated.
• A valid driving licence.
The Administrative and Financial Officer will be a staff member of the EPLO and therefore an international civil servant.
