The 21st Annual Reunion of the European Group of Public Law (EGPL) was held on September 10-12, 2010.
During the Reunion, the reports of the conference organized by the EGPL on the subject “The Concepts and Methods of Reasoning of the New Public Law” were presented and discussed. Many participants, among which academics, professors, government representatives, as well as old and new members coming from European and non- European countries, attended the yearly meeting of the European Group of Public Law.
During the first session of Friday, September 10 presided by Prof. D. Sorace of the University of Florence (Italy), a general introduction on “A New State? From the Nation-State to an Integrated, Globalized, Bureaucratized and Privatized State” was delivered, followed by general reports delivered by Prof. Y. Aguila of the Conseil d’Etat (France) and Prof. Dr. H. Raulus of the Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands).
During the second session, presided by Prof. M. Brenner of the University of Jena (Germany), presentations were delivered on “New Concepts?” by Prof. M. Savino of “La Tuscia” University (Italy) and Prof. F. Rodríguez Pontón of the University of Barcelona (Spain).
The third session, held on Saturday 11, presided by Prof. D. Tarschys of the University of Stockholm (Sweden), had “A New Legislation?” as its main topic, featuring general reports delivered by Prof. C. Harlow of the London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom) and Prof. H.-C. Röhl of the University of Konstanz (Germany).
Finally, the fourth session, presided by Prof. F. Merli of the University of Graz (Austria), presented a case study drafted by Mr. G. Dimitropoulos, LLM, University of Heidelberg (Germany), and the general conclusions, delivered by Prof. B. Mathieu of the University Paris I (France) and by Prof. A. Levade of the University of Paris XII (France).
